Welcome to Litcoder ("the Platform"), operated by Paprika Maps Pvt. Ltd, a company incorporated under the laws of India with its registered office at 270, 4th Cross, RMV 2nd stage, Bangalore 560094 ("we", "our", "us").

By accessing or using this Platform, you ("User", "you") agree to comply with and be bound by these Terms of Use ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not access or use the Platform.

1. Overview of the Platform

Litcoder enables users to evaluate and enhance their proficiency in coding and GenAI-enabled environments through assessments, analytics, and learning programs. The Platform serves three user groups:

  • Students in universities and academic institutions,
  • Organizations (including tech companies) using the Platform for talent acquisition or development, and
  • Independent developers and coders seeking to benchmark and enhance their skills.

We provide these services through a combination of human and AI-enabled evaluation frameworks, analytics, and interactive learning content.

2. Acceptance of Terms

By signing up, accessing, or using any part of the Platform, you confirm that:

  • You are at least 18 years of age (or using the Platform under supervision if younger),
  • You have the legal capacity to enter into this agreement,
  • You agree to comply with these Terms and our Privacy Policy.

3. Role Under DPDPA (India)

Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDPA):

  • We act as a Data Processor on behalf of our client organizations (universities, companies, or institutions) who are Data Fiduciaries.
  • We process personal data only for the purpose of performing contracted services and under instructions from the Data Fiduciary.
  • We do not collect or independently determine the purpose or means of processing any personal data.
  • Personal data is handled with reasonable security safeguards, and retained only as long as necessary for the stated purposes.

Users are encouraged to review the respective Data Fiduciary's privacy notices and consent mechanisms before using the Platform.

4. User Accounts and Responsibilities

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials.

You must provide accurate and current information when creating or updating your account.

You agree not to:

  • Interfere with or disrupt the operation of the Platform,
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to data or systems,
  • Use the Platform for any unlawful or fraudulent purpose,
  • Reverse-engineer, decompile, or copy any part of the Platform's software or assessment mechanisms.

5. Use of AI and Automated Evaluation

The Platform utilizes AI-assisted evaluation and scoring mechanisms to assess coding proficiency, problem-solving ability, and GenAI readiness.

Important disclaimers:

  • AI-supported, not AI-determined: Scoring and recommendations are generated using algorithmic models designed to reflect proficiency levels. However, they are subject to model limitations, biases, and contextual variability.
  • No guarantee of outcome: AI-based results are indicative assessments, not definitive judgments of skill, employability, or future performance.
  • Human review: In certain contexts, AI-generated scores may be reviewed, audited, or adjusted by human evaluators for fairness and accuracy.
  • Continuous improvement: Our AI models are periodically updated and refined. Historical scores may not be directly comparable over time.

By using the Platform, you acknowledge that AI-based scoring is probabilistic and advisory, and you agree not to hold us liable for outcomes, interpretations, or decisions based on such results.

6. Intellectual Property

All content, assessments, software, code, AI models, analytics, and visual interfaces on the Platform are the intellectual property of Paprika Maps Pvt. Ltd or its licensors.

Users may not copy, distribute, modify, or reuse any part of the Platform without prior written consent.

You retain ownership of the code or content you upload for evaluation but grant us a limited license to process it solely for assessment and development purposes.

7. Third-Party Integrations

The Platform may integrate with third-party systems (e.g., LMSs, ATSs, or code hosting platforms). We are not responsible for the privacy, security, or functioning of third-party services. Your use of third-party services is governed by their respective terms.

8. Data Security and Confidentiality

We maintain reasonable organizational and technical safeguards to protect user data, including:

  • Encryption of data in transit and sensitive information such as passwords at rest,
  • Access controls and logging,
  • Restricted internal access to personal and code data.

We process only the minimum data necessary for evaluation and development activities. We do not sell or share personal data with advertisers or unrelated third parties.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law:

  • The Platform is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis.
  • We disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including those relating to merchantability, fitness for purpose, or accuracy of AI outputs.
  • We are not liable for any loss, damage, or consequence resulting from:
    • Reliance on AI-generated scores or feedback,
    • Technical errors, downtime, or data loss,
    • User misuse or submission of inaccurate data.

In no event shall our total liability exceed the amount paid (if any) for use of the Platform in the preceding one (1) month.

10. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account or access to the Platform:

  • If you breach these Terms,
  • If required by law or contractual obligations, or
  • For maintenance, upgrades, or discontinuation of services.

Upon termination, your right to use the Platform ceases immediately.

11. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in Bangalore, Karnataka, India.

12. Changes to Terms

We may modify these Terms from time to time. Updated versions will be posted on this page with a revised "Last Updated" date. Continued use of the Platform constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
