1. Introduction

This Privacy Policy describes how Paprika Maps Pvt. Ltd ("Company", "we", "us", or "our") handles personal data when providing its proficiency evaluation and learning services through the Litcoder platform ("Platform").

We act as a Data Processor under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 ("DPDPA"). This means we process personal data solely on behalf of and under the direction of Data Fiduciaries (such as universities, employers, or training partners) who determine the purpose and means of data processing.

2. Scope of Processing

We process personal data for the following limited purposes:

  • Conducting coding, cognitive and GenAI proficiency evaluations and skill development;
  • Delivering personalized learning and development insights;
  • Generating aggregated and anonymized analytics for institutional reporting; and
  • Providing technical support and service improvement.

We do not use personal data for marketing, profiling, or any unrelated purposes.

3. Categories of Personal Data Processed

Depending on instructions from the Data Fiduciary, we may process:

  • Identification Data: Name, institutional email, enrolment or employee ID;
  • Assessment Data: Coding and other assessment submissions, performance scores, improvement areas;
  • Usage Data: Log data, timestamps, IP address, and device type (for system security).

We do not intentionally collect or process any sensitive personal data (such as biometrics, health data, or financial information).

4. Basis and Responsibility

The Data Fiduciary (your university, employer, or platform partner) is responsible for:

  • Obtaining valid consent from Data Principals (students, employees, or users);
  • Informing them of the purpose and extent of processing;
  • Ensuring that any data shared with us is lawful under DPDPA.

We process such data only under written instructions and for the contracted purpose.

5. Data Storage and Security

All data is stored securely on [Azure/DigitalOcean/Other] cloud servers located in India.

We use encryption, firewalls, and strict access controls. Our staff are bound by confidentiality and undergo data protection sensitization.

Data is deleted or anonymized after completion of the contract or within 30 days of request from the Data Fiduciary.

6. Disclosure and Third-Party Access

We do not sell, rent, or share personal data with any third party. We may engage vetted sub-processors for hosting, analytics, or communication services — all of whom operate under written data protection agreements ensuring equal or higher safeguards.

7. Data Retention and Deletion

We retain personal data only:

  • Until deletion is requested by the Data Fiduciary.

Post-retention, all data (including backups) is securely deleted using certified erasure methods.

8. Data Principal Rights

As a Data Processor, we assist the Data Fiduciary in fulfilling Data Principal rights under the DPDPA, including:

  • Access, correction, and erasure;
  • Grievance redressal; and
  • Data portability (if applicable).

Requests from individuals are routed to the respective Data Fiduciary for action.

9. Cross-Border Data Transfers

We do not transfer personal data outside India unless explicitly instructed by the Data Fiduciary and in compliance with applicable laws.

11. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time to reflect legal or operational changes. Updated versions will be published on our Platform with the date of revision.

12. Acceptance

By using the Platform through your institution or employer, you acknowledge that your data is processed under this Policy and the instructions of your Data Fiduciary.
